In this exclusive clip from an extra feature on the Sons of Anarchy season 6 Blu-ray, out Aug. 26, Hunnam recounts the sadness he felt in losing Siff, with whom he says he shared “the greatest collaboration I’ve ever had with another actor.”
“I really enjoyed working with her,” he says in the video above, “and I think out of all the things we’ve achieved on Sons of Anarchy, the relationship with Jax and Tara is the thing that I find plays the most real and deep and rich and has been the thing I’ve been most proud of.”
The season premiere of Sons of Anarchy’s final season, airing Sept. 9, will pick up 10 days after the bloody final and show Jax in jail on a parole violation and dealing with the loss of his wife.

“I felt like I had an interesting take on that character and felt like I could have done a good job of playing Christian Grey, otherwise I wouldn’t have taken it on in the first place,” Hunnam told Life & Style this past weekend. “When you put the time into something like that and a character comes alive in your mind, it’s heartbreaking not to be able to play him. … It was definitely kind of heartbreaking having to say goodbye to that character and not bring it to life.”
Hunnam says he’ll be among the first to see Dornan’s fearless take on Christian Grey when “Fifty Shades” opens next February.
“If they invite me to the premiere, I will go and see it there,” Hunnam said. “If not, I’ll go and buy some tickets on opening night.”

One of Hollywood’s sexiest hunks, Charlie Hunnam is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to psychotic and challenging roles. Currently filming his upcoming thriller film “Crimson Peak” with “Pacific Rim” director Guillermo del Toro, Hunnam made headlines when he shaved his “Sons of Anarchy” beard to play Dr. Alan McMicheal in the period film.
Known to be very particular on the roles he plays, the 34-year-old actor started acting when he was 15 and was given three episodes in a British children’s show. His first break was from Channel 4’s drama “Queer as Folk” where he played Nathan Maloney, a 15-year-old teenager who was eager to explore the gay culture for the first time.
Playing a curious teenager in “Queer as Folk” gave Charlie that much needed boost of confidence and exposure. Although not everyone was happy and thrilled about it, the show was definitely ground-breaking and earned record ratings.
“I have 60 years to make the money, but the choices I make in the next five years are really going to define my career,” the actor revealed in an interview posted on Wikipedia.
In an interview with Detour Magazine, the actor revealed that one man cornered him on a train and told to be ashamed of himself.
“I was like, dude, I didn’t … kill anyone in Queer as Folk, you know? I don’t gang-shoot anyone. If you think it’s irresponsible to play a gay character; then I don’t know what to say to that,” says the actor during the train incident.
Thanks for his role as Natham Maloney, the SOA actor’s career expanded and he got to play some of his memorable psychotic roles.
“I played the psycho in Cold Mountain, my character in Green Street is fairly psychotic and now I’ve got this role,” revealed the star.

Charlie Hunnam is clearing the air.
The Sons of Anarchy actor exclusively broke his silence to E! News after stepping down from the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.
The Hollywood hunk made his first public appearance since the news broke at the 2nd annual “Hogs for Heart” event benefiting One Heart Source Education Programs in Africa at Moe’s restaurant in Burbank.
Charlie joined his SOA cast members as they hosted the evening’s festivities.
So how is he holding up since dropping out of the highly anticipated flick?
“I am doing good. I am just really concentrating on work. It’s been a really busy time,” he said.
“I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive.”
E! News has learned that Charlie’s father, Billy, had passed away in May of this year and that the actor traveled back to England to be with family at the time.
Charlie’s currently wrapping up season six of the hit FX series and explained what he plans on doing before his final days as Jax Teller.
“Like I said, I’ve got some family stuff I have to tend to. So when I wrap the show, I am going to go to England and see my people and then I have a film that I am doing with Guillermo [del Toro]. So I am going to go and do that and concentrate on the final seasons of Sons.”
The Brit also explained how difficult it’s going to be to finally say goodbye to his costars.
“It’s obviously going to be a really emotional time for us. We are like a family and have become very, very close and become dear friends to each other so it’s going to be sad and finish up and say goodbye to everyone, but we’ve got like 13, maybe even a few more, episodes,” he said.
“There’s rumor that we might do a couple of more episodes and do a little bit of an extended season next year, so we will see if that happens. It may or it may not. But I just want to finish that strong and go on to a new chapter of life.”
The fundraiser, which raised a total of $90,000, was a massive success thanks to the help of Charlie and the rest of the cast.
Every child featured at the event was sponsored in at least one category (academically, medically or nutritionally), and the 33-year-old star himself sponsored three children.
Charlie spoke about one of the kids he sponsored, Simon, who is 13 years old.
“He’s an orphan, he lost his mom and his dad and was living on the streets, never been to school a day in his life. Then they found him, this organization,” he explained.
“We just want to make as much money for these kids as possible.”
