Check out what Ausiello had to say about Sons of Anarchy in his latest ‘Ask Ausiello’ column.
Question: Do you know anything about Season 5 of Sons of Anarchy? —Elyse
Ausiello: I know that Clay might not be the only one facing an uncertain future with SAMCRO when the action picks up several weeks after the transition of power that landed Jax at the head of the table. Rather, his old lady Gemma, as evidenced by the look on her face at the close of the Season 4 finale, should also have cause for concern. “I don’t think she manipulates Jax in the same way she manipulates Clay,” Charlie Hunnam told us at FX’s upfront party. “There’s a dynamic inherent in every mother-and-son relationship, where after a while the son is going to say, ‘Mom, you ain’t running my life anymore.’ So I think she definitely has a good reason to be nervous in terms of her position in the club.”
I have added 21 additional stills from Sons of Anarchy episodes 4×07 ‘Fruit for the Crows’ and 4×08 ‘Family Recipe’ into the gallery. I will have more from the rest of season four coming soon.

Less than two months after Sons of Anarchy aired its Season 4 finale, FX has already ordered a sixth season of the biker drama, TVGuide.com has confirmed. The network renewed the show for a fifth season back in October.
The sixth-season renewal, which was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, is part of a three-year overall deal between Sons creator Kurt Sutter and 20th Century Fox TV and FX Productions. That pact calls for him to also develop new series projects for both broadcast and cable.
Sons of Anarchy boss on Season 4 finale: Clay suffered a “fate worse than death”
According to THR, Sutter still envisions ending the show in seven seasons — maybe. “There’s a part of me that does see being able to tell this story in seven seasons, but there’s a part of me that doesn’t want to say, ‘That’s it,'” he said. “I almost feel like when you hang that kind of finality and put a period on something, there’s almost a backlash that happens with the fan base.”
The Season 4 finale left the SAMCRO motorcycle club in disarray: Jax (Charlie Hunnam) took over the club and decided not to kill Clay (Ron Perlman). (Get the scoop on Season 5 here.)

#1: Sons of Anarchy
Your first hint on this should have been the fact that I did a Top 8 Sons of Anarchy episodes list last week. Like Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy has always been able to up the stakes season after season. However, where there were a coup[le slight dips of quality in some of the middle seasons of Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy has managed to improve itself every single season. This season the cards were laid out with Clay finally being set up as the villain, and even though we knew he had to die, he survived. Not only that, he survived in a way that made sense and didn’t stretch credibility. The only potential flaw you can find in this show, which has been much talked about and in my eye amplified simply BECAUSE critics need something to pick at, is the storyline with Juice’s racial secret, something which seemed a wee bit frivolous from the get-go but played out just fine overall. The performances are the best the show has ever seen; standouts are Katie Segal, Charlie Hunnam, Maggie Siff and especially Ryan Hurst. This is, flat-out, the greatest show on television and even if you don’t dig it, you have to respect it.
